Luana Hill was born in 1842 at Chateaugay, Franklin, New York, USA to David Hill and Sarah White. [1]
Luana married Edwin H Armstrong (1834- 1923) about 1861 in New York. They apparently separated before 1868 when Mr Armstrong lived in Michigan.
Luany Armstrong then married Charles W. Fenton on September 6, 1873 at Sibley, Osceola, Iowa. [2]

William Henry. (1862–1946) born in Malone, Franklin, NY - m. Margaret Battjer
Wyman Otis (1866–1950) born in Franklin County, NY - m. Susan Jane Box
Charles and Luany Fenton had three children:
Erwin P (1875–1913) - never married - fought in the Spanish-American War - ultimately died of TB
Freddie H (1876–1877) - died young
Mabel Florence (1879–1970) - m. William Henry Ruttan - divorced / m. William H. Wendell

In 1880, Luana is living in the household of her husband Charles Fenton with their 4 children, William,17; Otis,13 from her Armstrong marriage; Irving, 5; Mable, 1 with Mr Fenton, who is a Carpenter. Luana passed away in 1882 After living in Iowa and Kansas, then falling ill in 1881 she returned to her parents home at Chateaugay, NY and died there on 23 July 1882.

Thank you Denise, for the sensible change you made to the birthdate. Coincidently, on the 1870 US Census, Clinton, Iowa, I did some checking on that before I added Luanna and concluded that was a Fenlon couple. I checked the suggested records Ancestry gives alongside the record citation and they indicated it was not our Luanna in my opinion. ( I went back and verified and the Clinton couple is Charles C Fenlon and Luanna (Steadman) Fenlon.) I had them as a source myself before I discovered it, so I made the mistake also. Thank you, I appreciate the work you did here.
