Biography
Mary Hill was born on 15 Jun 1810 in South Carolina, United States to Henry Hill and Judith Nabors. She married Thomas Ross (1807-1873) on 19 Jan 1830 in Lauderdale, Alabama, United States, and they had 10 children: David Alexander Ross (1830-1862), Francis Ross (1834-), Thomas Austin Ross (1837-), Charles Lafayette Ross (1838-), John W. Ross (1840-1920), Emma J. Ross (1844-), Sarah Adelina Ross (1845-), William Henry Ross (1847-), Moses Marion Ross (1849-1909), and Mary Elizabeth (Ross) Thornton (1853-1933). Mary died on 24 Feb 1883 and is buried in Florence Cemetery, Florence, Lauderdale, Alabama, United States.
Birth
Mary has several birth dates attributed to her. Find a Grave says 15 Jun 1810, the year is slightly hard to read on her headstone as well. The 1870 census lists her age as 57 which would make her birth year about 1813. The 1860 census lists her age as 41 which would make her birth year about 1819.
