Biography

The daughter of Hugh Leroy Hinde and Ida Delphina (Demeritt) Hinde, Marcella Hinde was born in Key West, Florida^{[citation needed]} in 1919, residing there with her family.^[1][2][3]

Marcella married Clyde Alton Thompson, the son of Thomas H. Thompson and Mary Ann "Mamie" Curry, marrying in Key West, Florida on December 16, 1939^[4] and having five sons together. They made their home together in Key West, rooming together in 1940 in the Key West home of McGregor Sands and his family, while Marcella's husband worked as a commercial fisherman.^[5]

By1945, Marcella and her husband had started their family having two children together by 1945, and lived in Marathon, Florida.^[6] The 1945 census noted the school levels each had finished and, while Marcella had completed school through the 7th grade, her husband had completed school through the 5th grade. By 1950, residing in Monroe County, Florida, Marcella and her husband had had three children together.^[7]

Marcella Thompson passed away in Big Pine Key, Florida^[8] at the age of 86^[9] and is buried at Key West Cemetery in Key West, Florida.^[10]
