Dorothea was born in 1918.
On 4th February, 1936, Dorothea Marjorie Hird married Henry Francis Muddle at St Stephen's, Newtown. Henry was a 24-year-old Labourer, born Camperdown, the son of Thomas Henry Muddle, Labourer, and Adelaide Stuart. Dorothea, Shop Assistant, said she was 18, born Sydney, the daughter of Edward Hird, Labourer, and Flora Annie Pauline Simpson. The Church of England ceremony was performed by A. E. Rook, before witnesses F.H. Muddle, Adelaide Muddle and M. Muddle. Written consent to the marriage was supplied by Dorothea's mother, but it wasn't needed for Dorothea had attained the necessary 18 years. Both the bridge and groom resided 31 Albert Street, Erskineville, at the time of their marriage. [1] [2]
