Biography

Caroline was born about 1839 in Dublin, Ireland. She arrived in Australia on 25 Oct 1860 aboard the 'Merlin'. Caroline married George Fiddes in Melbourne on 11 Sep 1862. The marriage was short lived although no annulment or divorce has ever been found. George married Johanna Fischer at Hahndorf, South Australia on 20 Sep 1868. Some time later in 1878 Caroline married John Arnaud Moodie in Victoria. It seems this marriage also failed and again no annulment or divorce has been found. When Caroline died at the Old Colonists' Home at North Fitzroy, Victoria on 16 Jul 1924 she was known by her original married name, Caroline Catherine Fiddes. Caroline had no children.
