Biography

Lester was born in 1895, the son of William Henry Hodgins and Elizabeth Brown.[1]

Walter James Lester was born on October 7, 1895, the son of Wm. Henry Hodgins, farmer, and Eliza Brown, of Ross Township, Renfrew County.

He married Annie Marsella Bowes in 1918.[2] Their marriage record reads:

Walter James Lester Hodgins, 22, residing near Renfrew, born Cobden, bachelor, farmer, son of William Hodgins and Eliza Brown, married
Annie M. Bowes, 18, residing near Renfrew, born Admaston, spinster, daughter of James Bowes and Jane Forrest,
Witnesses: Wellington Hodgins, RR 2, Renfrew, and Myrtle Bowes, RR 2, Renfrew,
At the residence of James Bowes, on the twelfth day of March, 1918.

Lester died on January 10, 1962 in Kingston, Ontario.

Together they had the following children:

  1. Mary Edna, born November 16, 1934, died May 26, 1935[3], of pneumonia
  2. Ellard James, 1936–1946
  3. Winston Lester, 1939–2012

Lester died in 1962. [4]

He was buried at Admaston Cemetery, in Renfrew, Ontario.
