Biography

Elizabeth Hodgins was born on 18 Apr 1862 in Kinloss, Bruce County, Ontario, Canada. She was the daughter of John and Francis Hodgins.

Matthew S Haldenby and Elizabeth Hodgins married on 3 Mar 1880 in Bruce, Ontario, Canada. He was 26 years old at the time and she was 18. Mathew was born in Amherst Island, Ontario and was the son of Richard and Margaret Haldenby. Elizabeth was born in Kinloss and was the daughter of John and Francis Hodgins. ^[1]

At the age of 18, Elizabeth appeared in the 1881 Canadian Census with her husband in Culross, Bruce South, Ontario. ^[2]

Elizabeth passed away on 21 Jun 1885 (aged 23) in Kinloss. The cause of death was acute typhoid pneumonia. ^[3] She was buried at Culross-Teeswater Cemetery in Teeswater, Ontario. ^[4]
