Biography
Samuel married on 3 May 1878 to Mary Sayers. [1]
Samuel Hodgins was operating a goods crane at the main railway station and lifting off timber when the crane brake slipped and discharged it's load. Samuel was unable to escape the falling timber and later died in hospital as a result of his injuries. [2]
Samuel Nicholson Hodgins died aged 35. [3]
Samuel and Mary had a daughter Mary. She was born after Samuel's death on 28 December 1879.[4]
Samuel Hodgins is buried at Southern Cemetery, Dunedin, Dunedin City, Otago.
