Paternal line Y-chromosome DNA test-takers:
DNA testing indicates at least two unique Holmes families from Co Donegal. Andrew is related to several other early Holmes families including the Rev William Homes who share a common ancestor, likely born in SW Scotland, probably in the 1400's. There is no DNA evidence that either are related to Robert Holmes from the Isle of Wight as Robert has no known male decendants who have participated in testing. Other evidence including his origins in the Isle of Wight indicate that Robert is more likely to be part of the 2nd DNA group from Co Donegal that seems to have English origins.
Can you remove County Donegal as a category from this profile and the others in this family please - they should be linked to a townland or parish - I can help with creating this if required - thanks!
