John was a Friend (Quaker)

John was born on 30d 10m 1751 [30 Dec 1751] in Pawling, Dutchess, New York Colony.^[1] He was the son of Israel Howland and Drusilla (Wood) Howland.^[1]

He married Susannah Chase, daughter of Johanna Brown, of Pawlings, on 23d 2m 1774 [23 Feb 1774].^[2]

He was received on certificate at the Nine Partners monthly meeting from the Oblong monthly meeting on 20d 11m 1806 [20 Nov 1806].^[3] He was accompanied by his children Seneca, Abraham, and Ira.^[3] No certificate has been found for his wife, implying that he was a widower.^[3]

He died on 13d 7m 1820 [13 Jul 1820], age about 69y, in White Creek, Washington, New York.^[4]
