When William David Hudgins was born on 30 December 1847, in Jackson, Alabama, United States, his father, El Nathan Hudgins, was 33 and his mother, Sara T Proctor, was 28.

He married Lucy Elvira Turner on 20 December 1866. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 5 daughters. Lucy died on 4 April 1899.

In the 1900 census, William (age 53) was the widowed head of household in Justice Precinct 4, Tarrant, Texas, United States.[2]

William, son of L Nathan Hudgins & Mary Proctor, died (age 82) on 31 March 1930 in Waco, McLennan, Texas, United States.[3]

William was buried in North Richland Hills, Tarrant, Texas, United States.[4]
