Bridget Irving was born in 1783 in Westerkirk, Dumfriesshire, Scotland, daughter of Thomas Irving (~1751–~1835) and Betty Little (~1757–1837).[1] She was baptised on May 4, 1783.[1]

MONUMENTAL INSCRIPTION: Westerkirk Sacred to the memory of Thomas IRVINE who died 12th September 1835? in the 85th? year of his age. Mark the perfect man and behold the upright for the end of that man is peace. [Side 2] Sacred to the memory of Elizabeth LITTLE wife of Thomas Irvine who died on the 16th June 1837 in the 80th year of her age. We who have believed do enter into rest. [Side 3] Here lie interred the mortal remains of Bridgett and Jean daughters of Thomas Irvine and Elizabeth Little. Bridgett was born 28th of April and died -- of February. Jean died on -- of February in the 2nd? year of their age. [Encrusted with lichen][2]
