Margarett Jorden was born in Cranbrook, Kent, England.

A Margarett Jourden was baptised at Cranbrook, Kent on 22 October 1570.^[1] No parents are recorded on the transcription of this baptism.

Margarett Jorden is named as a beneficiary in the 1593 will of her father Edward Jordan.^[2] Part of this inheritance included 10 pounds per year paid from an annuity her father had in place. The will required Margarett to set aside 7 pounds per year until her father's debts were paid.
