[research note – Henry who is listed in the 1861 Census is missing and unaccounted for, but some researchers think that this is actually Emily as no birth records have been located for Henry. One researcher believes that “There was no Henry Ellis born to James and Sarah Harriet Ellis, the mistake is in the census record where Emily was recorded as Henry. "Emily" could sound like "enery" if the accent was cockney etc.” Rebecca who was missing in the 1861 census has returned home.]

  • Her son James dies on 30 September 1880 in St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London.[19]
