Samuel Richard was born about 1829.

On the 17th February 1857 Samuel Richard married his sister-in-law Martha Featherstone at Oaklands, South Australia, Australia.

"MARRIED - On the 17th Instant {February 1857}, at Oakland Cottage, by the Rev. John Kelsey, Samuel Kearne Jnr. of Oaklands, to Martha, eldest daughter of the late Michael Featherstone, Esq., of Brighton"^[1] In 1921 Samuel Richard was living at Kingswood, Lyndhurst Gardens, Hampstead, Middlesex, England

He passed away on the 9th April 1921 at Hampstead, Middlesex, England.

"DEATH OF A PIONEER OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA - The death has occurred in London {sic} of Mr. Samuel Kearne, a pioneer of South Australia, at the age of 92 years. Mr. Kearne's father was the first owner o f the Brooklands estate, near Brighton. Mr. Kearne and his brother John married daughters of the late Mr. Featherstone, of Brighton. Mr. Samuel Kearne left a widow, six daughters and two sons."^[2]

Probate was granted on the 10th June 1921 to The Public Trustee.
