Rosa (Rose) Ettie Kennedy b. 03 Jan 1896 Mayfield, Graves Co, KY d. 26 Jul 1919 McMinn Co, TN bur. Maplewood Cemetery, Mayfield, Graves Co, KY.[1]
Bryan (17) m. 23 Nov 1913 Dukedom, Weakley Co, TN and Rosa Etta Kennedy (16). It was a surprise wedding in that they eloped and made the trip in an automobile.[2][3]
Young Mayfielders Wed. --- The greatest surprise of the year occurred Sunday afternoon when Bryan T. Lemon and Miss Rosa Kennedy eloped to Dukedom, Tenn., where a Justice of the peace Joined them in wedlock. The couple went in Hughley's automobile and were accompanied by Robert Hester and Miss Lennle Kennedy, sister of the bride. They returned late in the afternoon and are at home at the residence of the bride's mother, Mrs. Mollie Kennedy, on East Water street. The couple are about the youngest that have been married In Mayfield for some time, the groom being the 17-year-old son of J. R. Lemon and the bride about sweet sixteen. Mayfield Messenger, 27th.[4]
