Biography
Ernest was born 10 April 1888 at Taubman Street, Ramsey IOM[1].
He was baptised at Maughold Chapelry 11 July 1888.[2]
In 1891 the family had moved to 5 Chantrey Street, Liverpool[3]
In 1901 they were at 102 Hamilton Road, Liverpool.[4]
Another move brought them in 1911 to 28 September Road Liverpool. [5]
After meeting his future wife Nora, he registered as a member of Richmond Baptist Church 16 February 1913. They married there 1 June 1914. At this time he was a clothiers manager.[6]
As a pacifist, when enlisted he joined the British Red Cross as a medical orderly.[7]
After the war, he and Nora lived at 39 Downing Street, Liverpool and he was employed as a clothier at Isreal Burman in Brunswick Road.[8]
Later they moved to 50 St Domingo Grove, Liverpool and Ernest was a clothiers salesman working from home.
He was widowed in 1930 and 23 July 1931 remarried to Esther.[9]
The family moved to 2 Greystones Road in 1936. Ernest was an insurance salesman and later a rent collection clerk at the Liver Buildings.
After retirement he returned the IOM at 21 Gladstone Avenue, Ramsey. Esther was employed as a cook at the home of the Bishop.
The final home was at 'Gen Haven' Strang Road, Union Mills, IOM.
He passed away at Nobles Hospital, Douglas, IOM and was buried at Braddan. [10]
He passed away in 1960.
