Biography

Jesse Kerby was born in 1747 in Virginia, son of John Kerby (1698–1772).

Jesse married Dicey Estes (born about 1 January 1748 in Amelia, Virginia; daughter of Elisha Estes II and Frances (Bottom) Estes). Their known children were:

• Judith Kirby (1769 – after 1840) .
• John Kerby (2 November 1780 – 11 March 1853) .
• Elisha Kirby (before 1785 – unknown) .
• George Kirby (before 1785 – unknown) .
• Frances Kirby (before 1785 – unknown) .
• William Kirby (before 1785 – unknown)

Jesse died in August 1786 in Franklin County, Virginia, aged 39.
