A record of the birth of this John Kidder says he was born February 20, 1814 in Wendell, Franklin, Massachusetts to parents, Johnathan and Patience Kidder.^[2]

CENSUS':

The 1850 US Census of Athol, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this John Kidder at the age of 35yrs old and given as a "carpenter," born in Massachusetts. He is living there in Athol in a home he owns valued at $1,200 with his 31yr old wife, Maria E. and their 6yr old daughter, Ann J.^[4]

The 1870 US Census of Sherman, Chautauqua, New York finds this John Kidder at the age of 56yrs old and given as a farmer, born in Massachusetts. He is living there in Sherman, N.Y., in a home he owns with real estate valued at $5,850, with his 46yr old wife, Almira and their 9yr old son, given as Scott. His 66yr old mother-in-law, Samantha Ross is also living in the household.^[5]

The 1900 US Census of North East, Erie, Pennsylvania finds this John at the age of 86yrs old and given as born in Massachusetts in February of 1814 and married for 58yrs. He is living there in North East, Erie with his 76yr old wife Almira. They are both living in the household of their 38yr old son, Orra S. Kidder, Orra's wife, 33yr old Henrietta and Orra and Henrietta's three children; 9yr old Ruth May, 7yr old John H. and 5yr old Maurice S.^[6]

DEATH:

A state of Pennsylvania Death Certificate says this John Kidder died November 25, 1914 in North East, Erie (county), Pennsylvania. Of this John, this record also tells us he died of "old age"; he was born February 20, 1814 and was over 100yrs old when he died; that he was a retired farmer; that he was a widower when he died; that his parents were Jonathan Kidder and Patience Potter, both of whom were born in Massachusetts.^[7]
