Josephine Maria (Maud Josephine) Kilmister was born on 19 February 1885 in New Zealand, daughter of John Kilmister and Sarah Ann Judd.
She married Robert Robinson Hare in 1911. The children of Josephine and Robert were:

- Robert Ian
- Lorna Enid (Davis)[1]
She died in 1979 and is buried in Karori Cemetery.
