Jessie was born in a cob cottage on 21 Jul 1889, daughter of William Kingan and Fanny Goodall. She married 1st John Cotton Farmer Rowley. They had the following known children:[1]

In 1950 she took a trip to the United Kingdom and Europe and, returning by boat, met Joseph Clay Jenkins. They were married three months later. In Wanaka they built a house where she lived for the rest of her life, surviving "Jenks" by eleven years.[1]
Jessie passed away 20 Apr 1976.[1]
