Biography

Jean (Lambie) Napier was born in Scotland.

Jean Lambie was born on the 29th of March 1840 at Avondale, Lanarkshire, Scotland, the daughter of William Lambie and Margaret Orr.^[1]

Jean Lambie married John Napier on the 7th of June 1866 at Cambusthan, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^[2] Jane was a dressmaker when they married.

Research Notes

• A 13 December 2001 post on Ancestry message boards referring to Jane/Jean Lambie Napier by Edith Bartels naming Jean as her great grandmother. The family moved to America, traveled around for work until John Napier died and Jean remarried to one James Black, later dying in 1914 and buried at Gettysburg.
• P.S. As a note to these Lammie/Lambie posts on Ancestry (17 YEARS AGO) they make reference to Margaret Orr born 1810 to John Orr and Jane Smith, which is INCORRECT.
