He was born in Chicago in 1918 to Italian emigrants Pasquale Lamontagna and Mary Fatigati. ^[2]

He was almost 5 years old when his father was brutally shot to death in 1923. In1930, he was living with his widowed mother and siblings. ^[3]

Pat enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943. ^[4]

He passed away at the age of 59 in 1978 ^[5], and was buried in Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois. ^[6]
