Biography

Rebecca was born about 1829. She passed away about 1852.

Rebecca Jane Launius was the daughter of Rev. Johannes "John" Launius and Rebecca Elizabeth Eubanks. Census information says she was born in Illinois. She was likely born in Franklin Co., as that is where her parents lived. She married first husband, David Branson 13 Aug 1848 in Franklin Co.,[1] was widowed and married her second husband, William Miles Branson, 10 Mar 1850 in Franklin Co., per IL Marriages to 1850.[2] She was William's first wife.[3] (Ref. William Miles Branson's memorial and retyped obit.) William and Rebecca produced a daughter, Roseanna Jane Branson. Rebecca died in April 1852, per Wm's obit.[4][5]

Deceased was twice married. His first wife was a young widow, whose maiden name was Rebecca J. Lawnis [Lawnius]. By this union two children were born, one of whom died in infancy, and one Rosanna Pashon, still survives. His first wife died about April 1852.
