Eva A. Ledford married William J. Denver on June 5, 1879 , in Clatsop County, Oregon.
Despite the article of her death, she died from Mitral Regurgitation and Influenza.
The following was provided by Findagrave member Stone Branches (#47411175): "Eva's father, Eli D. Ledford (1838-1858), was killed by an Indian and buried in Rogue River area. He went to Oregon by yoke and Oxen in May 10, 1854, with his brother George Towery Ledford, and arrived in Jackson County, Oregon, sometime in August of 1854. Eli married Sarah Jane Walker on May 16, 1858 and a daughter Eva was born in 1859. Eli was killed a short time later by an Indian Chief who thought he had stolen his horse when he had bought it from another man. The Indian had thrown his body in a river and piled rocks on top. The Indian Chief was later found to be wearing Eli's ring and made a confession of the slaying and took them to the place of burial. Mrs. Eva Anna Denver was the only child of Eli Ledford."
