Harriet (Leverton) Belton was born in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire, England.

Harriet was born in 1817 in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire, England. She is the daughter of Henry Leverton and Mary Allison.

She was baptised 16 March 1817 in Bulwell at St John Parish Church ^[1].

Harriet married aged 22, married Thomas Belton (1817-1882) on 20th May 1839 at St Mary, Nottinghamshire. ^[2]

Harriet and Thomas had at least two children: Henry, 1843 and Jane 1846. Her husband Thomas worked as a Tailor and in 1851census, Harriet is described as a dressmaker, in 1861 as a Milliner and 1871 as a Tailoress. ^{[3] [4] [5] [6]}

Harriet passed away aged 73 in Nottingham about 12th July 1890 ^[7] and was buried on 15th July 1890. ^[8]
