CHARLES LEWIN The death of Mr. Charles Lewin, of Old Junee, which took place last week, was not wholly unexpected. Advanced in years, he had latterly been in somewhat unsatisfactory health, but his robust constitution stuck to him, and he was in harness as it were right up to the last. Mr. Lewin was an Englishman and came to this State when three years old. His people settled in the Adelong district, where they engaged in farming pursuits, and later on Charles went to the Old Junee district, where with the exception of a brief interval he has resided for almost half a century, and where he held his nicely improved property. He was the last surviving member of his own family,most of the members of which were residing in the Tumut-Adelong country . There are four members of the Lewin family, all residing about Old Junee: Mrs. Charles Turner (Old Junee), Mrs. Fred Turner (Marrar), Will and Archie (Old Junee). The widow also survives, and she has reached her eightieth year. Deceased was himself eighty-four years of age . There are 17 grandchildren living, and 20 great grandchildren.
