Biography
James, son of William Lewin & Susan Lewin, was baptised on 13 October 1839 in Elstree, Hertfordshire, England.[1]
In the 1851 census James (age 11) was the son of William Lewin in Aldenham, Hertfordshire, England.[2]
James first came to New Zealand in 1859 on the Crysolite but returned to England on the same boat. [3]
In the 1861 census James (age 21) was the boarder of Charles Robinson in Poplar All Saints, Middlesex, England.[4]
James then returned to Lyttleton on the Clontarf[3]
Martha Ann Walker married James Lewin on 18 April 1866 [5]
James died on 15 November 1924 in Lyttelton, Canterbury, New Zealand, aged 82. [6] [7]
