Biography

Antonina Lucia lo Cairo is a Corleone native resident, the daughter of Giuseppe and Giovanna lo Cairo.[1] I estimate she is born around 1649, twenty years before she marries for the first time.

Antonina marries Giuseppe di Valenza, son of Pietro and Gioachina di Valenza, on 24 February 1669.[1]

Four years later, Antonina remarries, to Vincenzo Buccillino (or "Boccillino"), son of the late Francesco and Maria Boccillino, on 10 April 1673.[2]

Antonina marries for the third time, to Domenico Puccio, on 9 February 1682.[3]. Antonina's surname is known from the record of her first marriage, in 1669.[4]

Antonina and Domenico have at least six children: Francesca (c. 1682), Caterina (c. 1684), Anna (c. 1694), Giovanni (c. 1694), Nicolo' (c. 1696), and Leonardo (c. 1698).

I estimate Francesca is born the year her parents marry, and eighteen years before she marries. I estimate Caterina is 20 when she marries.

According to the records of their marriages, Francesca and Caterina are both born in terre Chusa (Chiusa Sclafani), and have been residents of Corleone from the age of minority.

I estimate their younger siblings are each around 20 years old when they marry. Based on my estimate of their mother's age, and the year their parents marry, all of Antonina and Domenico's children might be twenty years older than these estimates. Anna, Giovanni, Nicolo' and Leonardo's marriage records all indicate they are born in Corleone.

Francesca marries Ignacio Cusimano on 10 October 1700.[5]

Caterina marries Carlo di Palermo, a widower, on 17 September 1704. Her parents are both still living.[6]

Anna marries Giuseppe di Leo on 29 April 1714. Antonina has died by this time.[7]

A little over a month later, Giovanni marries Giovanna Rao on 3 June 1714. This marriage record reverses those of his siblings by indicating that his father has died, and his mother is living.[8]

Nicolo' marries Teresa Mosca on 28 February 1716.[9]

Leonardo marries Anna Bavuso on 13 November 1718. Domenico is still living.[10]
