Biography

Charles was born in 1833. He is the son of James Lomax. In 1841 his mother Deborah Lomax 41 laundress, lived at Great Marlow with Thomas 13, Charles 11 and Hannah 6. In 1851 his stepfather Robert Lomax 54 bricklayer born at Eccles was living at King Street, Barton Upon Irwell, with wife Deborah 55 born at Witchurch,(sic) Salop, Thomas 19 apprentice copper plate engraver, Charles 15, both born at Eccles, and two lodgers.

Charles married Sarah Allen 1838 -1884. In 1871 Charles 38 was a toll collector and Chelsea pensioner living at Woodhatch, Reigate, with Sarah 32, Charles Richard 6 born at Islington, Margaret 5 born at Galtspin, Bucks,, Agnes Mary 2 born at Hornsey, and Herbert 2 weeks. In 1881 Charles Lomax 48 was a shoemaker born at Great Marlow and living at Fleet Road, Hampstead, with Sarah 44 born at High Wickham, son (Charles) 16 born at Islington, Albert 10 born at Reigate, Sarah A 8 born at Hounslow, James A 4 born at Bushey, Herts, and Edth M 1 born at St Pancras
