Biography
John Longshaw was born in about 1816 at Leafield in Oxfordshire. [1]
John Langshore, a keeper, of an extraparochial place, [no father named]; and Mary Cook, of Field Assarts, daughter of James Cook, labourer; were married at the parish church of Asthall in Oxfordshire on 14 June 1851. The witnesses were called Edward Cook and Rosetta Bateman. [2]
In 1861 John Longshaw was living at Great Langley in Oxfordshire with his wife Mary and their children. His age was given as 43, implying a birth date in 1817 or 1818. His birthplace was given as Leafield, Oxfordshire. He was a labourer. [1]
