An article on the history of the Parish of Wolverton at the British History Online website says the following in reference to Sir Henry, "Sir John Longville [Sir Henry's Great Grandfather] lived to be eighty-three, and left one legitimate daughter Anne and several illegitimate sons on whom he settled the manor. The eldest son Thomas predeceased his father, and the settlement which came into operation gave the manor to Arthur [Sir Henry's Grandfather], the second son, and his heirs male. In 1542 Arthur had a release of all claim on the manor from John Cheyne, son and heir of Drew Cheyne and Anne Longville. He died in 1557, and his widow Anne [Sir Henry's Grandmother] held Wolverton for life. His son and heir Henry Longville [Sir Henry's father], who was sheriff for the county in 1592 and 1606, married Elizabeth Cotton [Sir Henry's mother] and died in 1618. The heir was Sir Henry Longville, his son, on whose marriage with Katherine [Sir Henry's wife] daughter of Sir Edward Cary [Sir Henry's father-in-law] the manor had been settled in tail-male in January 1597–8. He died in 1621, leaving a son and heir Edward [Sir Henry's son], created a baronet seventeen years later."[6]
