Biography
Nancy Lowe was born about 1819 in Clark, Kentucky, United States, daughter of Daniel Lowe (~1789 - ) and Hannah Booten Delilah (Baber) Lowe (~1794 - 1852).
Nancy married John Wesley Matherly (born in Estill, Kentucky in 1817; died in Jacksonport, Jackson, Arkansas, United States on 16 Dec 1863).[1]
In the 1850 census Nancy (age 32) was in Marion Township, Davis, Iowa.[2]

Nancy died on 20 Feb 1862 in aged ~42. Her death location is not known. Her husband served in the Civil War so it's possible she left Iowa and returned to Kentucky.

Nancy died while her husband John was serving in the Civil War. John died a year later and their children were taken in by Nancy's sister Drucilla.
Joseph Robb age 35, appointed guardian of James, William, Elizabeth and Armilda by the County Judge of Davis Co, Iowa, 1864. Joseph Robb was married to Drusilla Lowe, sister of Nancy Lowe Matherly, who died in 1862.
In 1870 Armilda, age 11, is living with her sister Martha and husband Harvey Smith - 1870 > IOWA > SHELBY > GALLAND GROVE TWP Series: M593 Roll: 420 Page: 21
