Biography

William was born in 1840, son of William Lukey. He married Mary Ann Goldsworthy in 1860. He disappears from the UK census after 1861, but Mary says she is still married. William E Lukey immigrated in 1864, a quartz miner in (1870 1880 1900 census) Grass Valley, California. During those years he lived for a while with a Tremewan family. Jane Bawden Tremewan was a possible cousin or aunt, as his mother was Susanna Bawden. He died in Sacramento in 1918, at age 77.
