On 3 May 1807 Phillis Maddison, of Sidehead, born 1 May 1807, 5th daughter of John Maddison (miner, native of this parish) by his wife Elizabeth Hetherington (native of Allendale, Northumberland) was baptised at St John's Chapel, Weardale. [1]

On 12 May 1827 John Nattrass married Phillis Maddison, both of this parish, by banns at Stanhope, St Thomas the Apostle. Witnesses: Charles Kitchen; Thomas Hall. [2]
