Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1827. She was the daughter of Anthony Maillard and Mary Hetherington.

Her father passed away when she was young.

England and Wales Census, 1841: Recorded in the household of her grandmother Mary Hetherington at at Burton, Thornton In Lonsdale, Yorkshire, Yorkshire West Riding, England. Aged 13. Also in the household was her 11 year old sister Mary and 15 year old servant Mary Garner.

18 year old Elizabeth and Enoch Oldfield Tindall (the son of John Tindall, Shipbuilder) obtained a marriage licence on 15 July 1845 at Thornton in Lonsdale, Yorkshire.

They were subsequently married on 16 July 1845 at Thornton in Lonsdale, York, England, by Licence^[1]. They were both of Burton in Lonsdale. The witnesses were Richard Thornton and Mary Hetherington Maillard (her sister).

They had the following children (most of whom died young):

10. Florence Nightingale (b.1860, d. 1863)

England and Wales Census, 1851: Living with her husband Enoch, and four young children Alice, Rebecca, Enoch and Lewis, at 6, Albert Terrace, Scarborough, Yorkshire, Yorkshire (North Riding), England. Aged 24. Also in the household were three servants. Her husband was an Ironmonger.

Sadly Elizabeth passed away in 1860 at the age of about 33^[2]:
