Denise Mailliard was born in 1897 at Maroilles in a family of tanners. From 1914 until 1917, in occupied Maroilles her family helped allied soldiers to hide and escape the germans. After the war, she married René Schwartz and had a son and a daughter born in Paris in 1920 and 1924. She passed away in 1957.
