Son of Samuel Marrs (1740-1817) and Francina Bradshaw (1742-1775).

POB also given as Rockbridge Co, VA.

William Marrs moved from VA to KY with his father and most of the rest of his family in 1793 and settled in Bourbon Co. However, he moved on to Champaign Co, OH, in 1808. Ca. 1816 he moved again to settle on the banks of Mosquito Creek, today within the boundaries of Perry, Sidney Twp, Shelby Co, OH. In fact he registered his land in Cincinnati in 1812, and we know that he and two of his sons were in the area as early as 1814.

NB: This may not be our William Marrs since is thought to have moved to Champaign Co, OH, in 1808. He did, however, serve in the post-Revolutionary War era as a private in Whitaker's Battalion, Kentucky Mounted Volunteers ca. 1794.
