Biography

Salvatore Mauro is born 25 January 1862 in Corleone and baptized the next day. He is the son of Ciro Mauro and Anna Streva. His godparents are Maestro Bernardo Liggio (actually, Colletto: Liggio is his mother’s surname) and Liboria Moscato, a married couple.[1]

Passengers from Corleone appear on the manifest of the Letimbro, arriving in New Orleans in 1886. Among them Salvatore and his sister:
