Emma Jane McCooey was born on 18th December 1871 in Richmond River, New South Wales, Australia. She was the fifth daughter of James McCooey and Emma Wilkinson.
Emma married Henry Jary on 18th April 1900 in Grafton, New South Wales. They had nine children, losing a daughter in infancy. Emma had two children before marriage, their birth surnames were McCooey, but the surname Jary was used thereafter, increasing the family to 11.
Aged 61 years, she passed away on 6th October 1933 in Ulmarra, New South Wales and is buried in Ulmarra Cemetery.

MRS. EMMA JARY.
The death occurred last night of Mrs. Emma Jary, of Ulmarra. Deceased was 61 years of age and was a widow, her husband - having died about two years ago. She leaves a family. The funeral will leave her late residence at 2 o'clock to-day for the Ulmarra cemetery. TROVE [1]
