Biography

Simon Frank McCrery was born about April 1864 in Ohio.[1] He was the son of John McCrery and Mary C. Crammer.[2]

In the 1870 census Simon F McCreery (age 6) was in Van Buren, Michigan. He was living in the household of John (age 58) and Mary McCreery (age 51). The household also included: Jame (age 18), Sarah (age 17), and William (age 9).[3]

In the 1880 census Frank McCrery (age 18), laborer, was living in the household of john (age 67) and Mary McCrery (age 61) in Watervliet, Berrien, Michigan. No one else was living with them.[4]

On 3 September 1887, Simon F. McCrery (age 26) married Mary Schreuder (age 18) in South Haven, Van Buren, Michigan.[5]

On 20 April 1891, Simon F McCrery (age 26), son of John and Mary Cramer, married Lizzie Phillips (age 18) in St Joseph, Berrien, Michigan.[6]

On 14 January 1895, Simon F McCrery (age 33), son of John McCrery and Mary C Crammer, married Catherine J. Goodenough (age 17) in Berrien, Michigan.[2]

In the 1900 census Simon F McCrery (age 36) and his wife, Catherine (age 21) were living in Dowagiac city Ward 3, Cass, Michigan.

Simon's occupation was given as stonemason.[1]

In the 1910 census Frank McCrery (age 50) was the married head of household in Benton Harbor Ward 4, Berrien, Michigan.[7]

In the 1920 census Frank McCrary (age 60) was the married head of household in Benton Harbor, Berrien, Michigan.[8]

In the 1930 census Frank Maccurrey (age 73) was the married head of household in Benton Harbor, Berrien, Michigan.[9]

Frank McCrery died on 9 April 1934 in Benton, Berrien, Michigan.[10][11] He was buried in Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor, Berrien, Michigan.[12]

Research Notes

  • Frank's birth information on the 1900 Census and on his death record do not agree. The former has April 1864 and the latter has 5 April 1856. Based on the other census records, 1864 appears to be the more accurate date. More research is needed. Kimbel-162 02:28, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
  • Based on her age, it appears that Frank's daughter Mary was the child of his first wife. More research is needed.
