Biography
Robert McGie was born in 1814. He was the son of Robert McGhie and his wife Elizabeth Alston.
Robert McGhie or McGee married Margaret Inverarity in Paisley Scotland in 1837[1]
Robert McGhie migrated to the Colony of Victoria and farmed in Mepunga in the South West.
Robert passed away in Mepunga in 1889. [2] He left an Estate valued at about £4700 divided between his children. Most of his Estate consisted of farming land at Mepunga and a block on Raglan Parade Warrnambool.
Research Notes
- Robert does not mention his wife in his Will written in March 1888 even though she died in 1895
- son in law James Francis was named as an executor in his Will.
