Erected by Samuel Patterson in memory of Hugh his son who died at Portpatrick, 16 Sept 1884, aged 21 years. Also Margaret McGhee wife of Samuel Paterson who died 28 July 1901, aged 79 years. Also the above Samuel Paterson who died at Auchenairn Glasgow on 25 Jany 1907, in his 80th year. Also his son Samuel Paterson, who died 3 June 1922, aged 67 years. Also his grandson Alexander Paterson who fell in action in France, 4 July 1917, aged 25 years. Also Sarah Campbell beloved wife of the above Samuel Paterson, who died 28 May 1930, aged 77 years.
