John was born about 1867. He is the son of Robert McGhie and Margaret Horner.
In the 1871 census John (age 4) was the son of Robert Mcghee at 34 Portland Street, Glasgow Laurieston, Lanarkshire.[1]
John (age 40), son of Robert McGhie & Margaret Horne, married Margaret Edith Montgomery (widow - born Dixon)) on 27 September 1907 in Parry Sound District, Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada.[2]
