James was born in 1848. He was the son of William McNicol and Christena Brown. He passed away in 1926.

- Birth, marriage, and death data on the descendants of William and Christena (Brown) McNicol collected by Ralph McNicol. Ralph McNicol was the second child and oldest son of James McNicol, who was the first child of William and Christena (Brown) McNicol. Ralph was born in 1883 and died in 1987, age 104. It is not clear when Ralph began collecting genealogical information, but he continued doing so until near the end of his life. Ralph maintained a handwritten descendent tree for each of William and Christena’s nine children. These sheets were retained by Ralph’s son Floyd McNicol after Ralph died. Floyd gave copies to David McNicol in 1992, who retains them. A PDF of these sheets will be included in FSP McNicol Documents.
