A. A. MCQUEEN

COLLINS, Miss. - Funeral services for Alex A. McQueen, 78, were held Thursday at Blakney Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery with Johns Funeral Home in charge.

McQueen died Tuesday at his home after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and music teacher. A native of Covington County he had made his home in the Blakney Community most of his life.

Survivors include, one son, A. B. McQueen, Jackson; three daughters, Mrs. Merle Ingram and Mrs. Marie Duff, both of Route 4, Collins; and Mrs. Rosa Lewis, Mt. Olive; one sister, Mrs. A. M. Knight, Jackson; and one brother, Ance McQueen of Collins; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. ^[5]

Note: According to Aldeen Keiffer McQueen's death certificate he was also a son. But he may have been Merle's son (see 1940 census). Also Kenneth McQueen listed as a child probably was Merle's son. Both men were listed as sibling in the obituary of Elizabeth Evelyn Ingram Ainsworth's obituary which listed her parents as Colman and Merle Ingram.
