Biography

James H. Mealey, an old citizen of Washington County, died on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clara Thompson near Birmingham. Deceased was born at Millerstown, Pa., on July 24, 1811, moved to Iowa in 1840 and settled in Dutch Creek Township, near Paris, where he has lived most of the time since. His wife died a few years ago, and since then he has spent much of his time with his children. Mrs. E. B. Clark, of this place, who is a sister of the deceased, attended the funeral which occurred Thursday.
