Oliver Cromwell Medaris was born on October 8, 1881 in Bathurst, Colony of New South Wales, son of Levi White Medaris (1826–1916) and Agnes Mary Taylor (1840–1932).^[1]

Oliver married Alice May Jeannie Wright (born in 1881 in Annandale, Colony of New South Wales; daughter of Mountstephen Richard Bluff Wright and Keziah (Peck) Wright). Their children were:

• Mountstephen Jack Medaris (1902-1942)
• Agnes Marguerita Medaris (1904-1981)
• John Hunter Medaris (1912–1947)
• Jean Mildred Medaris (1929-1996)

Oliver died on November 24, 1940 in Ryde, New South Wales, Australia, aged 59.^[1]
