Johannah Metler was born on 18 April 1816, in Warren, New Jersey, United States. She married Frederick Twining on 9 August 1833. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 5 daughters. She lived in Newton Township, Licking, Ohio, United States for about 30 years. She died on 15 August 1884, in Vanatta, Licking, Ohio, United States, at the age of 68.
