Biography

Beate Mischer was born in Lomnitz, Silesia (now Łomnica, Poland) on 7 Jan 1817^[1]. She was married to Friedrich Hampel. The couple had three children. In 1858 the entire family emigrated to Australia^[2]. However, about five years later they all returned^[3]. After the death of her daughter Friederike around 1870 the parents and their daughter Anna emigrated again and settled in Israel, taking the two orphaned grandchildren with them^[3]. Beate Mischer passed away on 29 Dec 1892 in Jerusalem^[4]. She is buried alongside her husband in the Templer Cemetery in Jerusalem^[5].
